MATERIALS

TAUKO is Mila Moisio and Kaisa Rissanen who design and manufacture clothing from recycled materials in Helsinki, Finland. Each of the designs is unique, reflecting the feel, form and structure of the materials.

TAUKO collections and classics are for everyday and festive use. Our original style also appears in costumes designed for various performances.

TAUKO designs can be found at the SOPIVAshop in Helsinki, as well as via international retailers. In case you are interested in tailor-made pieces, or have any questions, please contact us.

TAUKO clothes are 99% made of recycled materials, and for the rest, local and organic materials are used. Each piece is unique, expressing the characteristics of the materials in the spirit of Nordic aesthetics. All the designs are crafted in Helsinki, mostly by us, providing an alternative to mass-products and disposables.

TAUKO begun creative exploration of recycled materials with household textiles, which still form a large part of our design resources. Since then, various new materials ranging from hospital textiles to seat belts and bicycle inner tubes have served as inspiration to the collections. TAUKO is always looking for new stories to be told with yesterday’s remains.
